Making Time for Making Art
I have seriously missed having a creative outlet by painting and crafting. Living in a small home, I really don't have the space to spread out, set up my supplies and work on a project that will take me several days. Any craft or artwork I have done in the last few years have been… Continue reading Making Time for Making Art
Fun Banners
My friend over at Kellys DIY has made some bright and fun patriot decorations for 4th of July. These would be so much fun to get the family together for a Family Craft Session. Be sure to check out her other posts, because she does all kinds of simple and amazing craft projects!

For this project you will need Scrapbook pages in patriotic colors. You start by cutting the paper in half. Take one half and start at the widths end, and fold under and fold back over like you’re making a fan.

Then you fold it in half again, and press down on the folded part really hard with your fingers to strengthen that fold. Be sure the ends line up with each other and glue the ends together. You can use Aleenes tacky glue or hot glue.

It’s fun to get a greeting card for no occasion at all, just because someone is thinking of YOU! I like ones with silly messages like the Chinese fortunes I collected after I Googled “free Chinese fortunes”.
Silly Chinese Fortunes:
1. Some days you are pigeon, some days you are statue. Today, bring umbrella.
2. Two can live as cheaply as one, for half as long.
3. Your reality check about to bounce.
4. Two days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.
5. Your inferiority complex not good enough. Try harder.
6. When chosen for jury duty, tell judge “fortune cookie…

Butterfly Mobile
I saw this post a few days ago from my friend over at kelleysdiy.com and I just couldn’t stop thinking about how cute this project was, so I decided to share it. This can be made up in any colors of your choice to match your decor, and the butterflies switched out for little animals or birds. The perfect craft to do together with a child.
